The Bachelor of Business (BBus) in Hospitality and Tourism Management (Level 7) is a part-time 3.5-year, work-integrated, hybrid delivery degree programme designed to integrate structured higher education with sustained paid employment in the hospitality and tourism sector. The programme develops specialised knowledge, applied managerial capability, and supervisory competence appropriate to operational and middle-management roles within hospitality and tourism enterprises.

Unique Features

Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) is a central pedagogical feature of the programme and is embedded throughout the curriculum through a structured sequence of WIL and Professional Development modules. WIL integrates academic learning with authentic workplace experience, enabling students to apply theoretical knowledge within professional hospitality and tourism contexts. The programme adopts a developmental approach to WIL, supporting students in progressively building professional competencies, reflective practice, and industry engagement across the duration of the programme.

Delivery

The programme adopts a hybrid delivery model combining scheduled face-to-face learning with structured synchronous and asynchronous online engagement. Across Years 1–3, students attend 12 days on campus and 12 days online annually (six hours per day), typically scheduled on Mondays to accommodate full-time employment. This flexible structure supports access for non-traditional and mature learners, enabling participants to earn a salary while undertaking a professionally recognised business degree.
