Biography



Jacinta Greene Beatty, BSc (Mgt)., M.Sc., M.A. Ed, MEHOA
Jacinta is a lecturer in Hospitality Management at Waterford Institute of Technology.  Over the past 22 years, Jacinta has lectured both full-time and part-time learners on a broad range of programmes in the School of Humanities.  Her teaching and research interests include: Services Marketing; Management; Restaurant Management; Food , Energy and Sustainability, Rural Development and Entrepreneurship.  She has organised national fora on  Food, Energy and Sustainability and Enterpreneurship for WIT Hospitality Graduates, which included contributions from: Professor Patrick Wall (UCD); Peter Ward, Founder Member of Good Food Ireland,  Mr. Niall Rochford , General Manager Ashford Castle, Dr. Helen McDaid  Fáilte Ireland and Dr. Deirdre O;Connor FSAI. Jacinta studied Hotel Management  at undergraduate level at Dublin Institute of Technology (now Dublin Technological University) and has a Masters in Rural Development  from University College of Dublin and a Masters of Arts from Trinity College Dublin.  Prior to her appointment to WIT, Jacinta worked in the Hotel industry in Switzerland and in Rural Development with Teagasc.
