The Counselling Service offers a student-centred, professional and confidential psychological support service to students who are in emotional or psychological distress about any issue or area of concern impacting their personal or academic well-being. Psychological counselling is provided by highly qualified, accredited and experienced psychotherapists.

Services are available by appointment to full-time registered students and are free of charge. Students come to us for support around a huge range of issues. Such problems may be current or arising from events in the past. The counselling process aims to support and empower you to find solutions to your difficulties and to make your day-to-day life more manageable.

Skills and knowledge gained through counselling can benefit your wellbeing and relationships throughout your life. If you are in emotional distress, we would encourage you to make contact, no matter how big or small you feel your problem is. We are happy to have a conversation about the counselling process to help you decide whether it’s something you would like to engage with.
