Understanding your student application: EU and non-EU students

Welcome to our guide designed to help you determine whether you should apply as an EU student or a non-EU student at SETU. Making the right choice is crucial to ensure a smooth application process and fee structure alignment.

EU students: If you are an EU applicant, you are defined as a citizen and passport holder of an EU member state and have resided within an EU member state for at least 3 of the past 5 years.

Holders of non-EU passports who have an Irish Residence Permit with any stamp other than a stamp 2 can click on this link to get confirmation that they can apply in the same manner as an Irish/EU student.

For full-time undergraduate programmes of study at SETU, EU applicants should apply through the Central Applications Office (CAO) of Ireland. To learn more about the application procedure, please visit the CAO's website.

Non-EU students: If you are not a citizen of an EU member state and do not meet the requirements of EU residency as stated above, you must apply as a non-EU applicant. Explore the respective sections below to learn more about the application process for each category and find the necessary information to make an informed decision about how to apply to SETU.
