The EU-CONEXUS PhD Summer School 2024 will focus on Interdisciplinary Research Methods and Communication. It will take place in University of Rostock, Germany from the 22-26 July. SETU PhD students from all disciplines are invited to apply.

The EU-CONEXUS PhD Summer School aims to deliver an international, flexible, and innovative programme based on interdisciplinary and cross-sectoral approaches.

The sessions and learning outcomes will be focused on enhancing research and professional development skills. It is designed to boost students’ international research careers and strengthen their focus on solving Smart Urban Coastal Sustainability challenges.

This year’s Summer School is set to bring together PhD students from the alliance and experts from more than 10 countries. A diverse range of topics will be covered through workshops and lectures including the 3 minutes challenge (presentation of PhD subjects); qualitative and quantitative research methods; career development; navigating the world of academic publishing and peer review; scientific writing and publishing; communication; teamwork and creativity; effective communication in science and social media; engaging with policymakers and stakeholders in research; and collaborative research and team dynamics.

Additionally, students will participate in practical workshops aimed at applying theoretical knowledge and expertise in real-world scenarios. Cultural and social events will also feature as part of the schedule. All training, travel and accommodation costs for successful applicants will be covered by EU-CONEXUS.
