The Technology Transfer Office Team is proud to announce the success of the Research Commercialisation Roadshow, a collaborative initiative aimed at empowering researchers within the SETU community to embark on the dynamic journey of innovation and entrepreneurship. The roadshow was held over two days in SETU Carlow and Waterford campuses in March and April 2024.

The event, supported by Enterprise Ireland, showcased a diverse range of supports available to researchers, including the Commercialisation Feasibility Fund and the Commercialisation Fund.

These initiatives are designed to assist researchers in translating their deep-tech research into commercially viable opportunities, thereby maximizing societal and economic impact.

Ellen Byrne, a representative from Enterprise Ireland, delivered insights into the Commercialisation Feasibility Grant and Commercialisation Fund, shedding light on the application process and eligibility criteria. Additionally, attendees had the opportunity to hear from esteemed speakers across the SETU campuses who shared their experiences as recipients of Enterprise Ireland funding or participants in state-funded research leading to university spinouts.

The Research Commercialisation Roadshow provided attendees with invaluable resources, including strategic guidance, robust financial supports, and targeted engagement opportunities. Through interactive sessions and panel discussions, researchers gained a comprehensive understanding of the commercialisation process, enabling them to identify market opportunities, understand customer needs, and refine their offerings for maximum impact.
