SETU held the annual Engineering Research Colloquium (SERC) for undergraduate research at its Kilkenny Road campus in Carlow on 9 June 2026.

The colloquium showcased the highest quality scholarly work produced by undergraduate students in SETU’s Faculty of Engineering and Built Environment. Throughout the event each student highlighted their submission to the Journal of SETU Engineering Proceedings (JSEP), and demonstrated their exceptional research, analysis and engineering solutions to attendees.

The event brought together undergraduate students, academic staff and research leaders for a day of learning, discussion and networking.

Dr Frances Hardiman, Head (Carlow) Faculty of Engineering and Built Environment, welcomed attendees to the event during the opening address.

Today's Engineering Research Colloquium and associated Journal Proceedings provides an opportunity to celebrate undergraduate research and introduce students to a professional presentation and publishing environment.
