South East Technological University (SETU), through its participation in the EU-CONEXUS European University alliance, is proud to announce the launch of a new open-access, peer-reviewed academic journal: Coastal Resilience & Sustainability (CoReS).

Now open for submissions, CoReS offers researchers at all career stages an exciting opportunity to contribute to an international platform focused on some of the most pressing issues of our time—from coastal urban resilience and climate-adaptive communities to smart infrastructure, energy systems, and environmental sustainability.

CoReS welcomes contributions on:

  1. Energy Efficiency and Building Performance
  2. Renewable Energy Systems and Applications
  3. Sustainability and Life Cycle Assessments
  4. Smart Energy Systems
  5. Environmental Sustainability and Climate Change in Coastal Areas
  6. Blue Growth and Development of Coastal Communities
  7. Social and Cultural Impact on the Environment

The journal aims to publish original contributions in the following formats:

  • Original Scientific Papers
  • Review Scientific Papers
  • Preliminary Reports
  • Professional Papers
  • Conference papers
  • Book reviews

The journal will also publish results from summer schools, doctoral theses, conferences, etc. There will be two issues per year: one thematic issue and one issue with the results of conferences, summer schools, workshops, etc.

An interdisciplinary approach

The journal has been developed by and for the EU-CONEXUS alliance, with an interdisciplinary approach that reflects the diversity of research expertise across its eight partner institutions. SETU is delighted to be represented on the journal’s editorial board by Dr Mike Kinsella and David Kane.

CoReS will publish two issues annually, welcoming both open-topic articles and thematic collections. Researchers who have presented at EU-CONEXUS conferences may also be invited to expand their work into full-length papers.

“This is a unique opportunity for SETU researchers to bring their work to a wider European audience, shape the academic conversation on resilience and sustainability, and build valuable links with peers across the EU-CONEXUS network,” said Dr Mike Kinsella.
