Tony joined SETU as the Head of Lifelong Learning having spent five years in Dublin Business School, initially as Head of Teaching and Learning and then as Academic Dean, responsible for all programme development and delivery. Tony entered higher education via the library during the nineties, before moving into blended and online programme development towards the end of the noughties, helping to set up and then manage the E-Learning Development and Support Unit in what was formerly IT Tralee. After a spell at the National Forum for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning, reviewing HE policy development for digital teaching and learning, Tony completed his PhD in Technology Enhanced Learning and E-Research at Lancaster University in 2018.
Tony leads the Leadership Education Module on the Masters of Arts in Teaching and Learning.
Tony's research interests include organisational structure and behaviour in higher education, open access publishing and flexible programme provision for access to higher education for lifelong learners.
