Biography
Frank received his Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Trinity College, Dublin in 1994, a Masters of Science (Physics) degree from Queens University, Belfast in 1996, and a PhD degree from WIT in 2013 in protocols for molecular communication.
He is currently a Lecturer at Waterford Institute of Technology, delivering modules in the area of Internet of Things(IoT), Web Development, and Automotive Software Development. Previously he was a researcher with the Telecommunications Software and Systems Group where he worked on a number of European Commission funded projects.
His interests include the Internet of Things, Javascript/Web programming, and Automotive Systems and Security.

Before joining the Dept. of Computing and Maths at WIT, Frank held several software engineering roles for General Motors(GM) and Eletronic Data Systems(EDS), providing software solutions across several GM locations both in EMEA, Asia and South America. In 2000, Frank worked with Orange PCS as a technical consultant, providing customer relationship management and billing solutions for Orange’s customer contact centres. In 2004, Frank joined the Telecommunications Software & Systems Group (TSSG) at WIT, predominantly investigating next-generation web services.
