The University was delighted to host Enterprise Ireland's Horizon Europe National Contact Points (NCPs) at our campuses recently, where they shared their expertise on the various European research funding schemes.
South East Technological University (SETU) recently welcomed Horizon Europe National Contact Points (NCPs) to its Carlow, Wexford and Waterford campuses, providing SETU researchers and regional businesses with direct access to European funding expertise.
Dr Sergio Fernando-Ceballos, Dr Claire Whelan and Stephen O' Reilly focused on Horizon Europe Cluster 4 (Digital, Industry and Space) and Mark Sweeney and Helen Murphy spoke about Cluster 6 (Food, Bioeconomy, Natural Resources, Agriculture and Environment). Through a series of presentations, the NCPs outlined the scope of each cluster and highlighted the range of funding opportunities available under Horizon Europe.

Researchers from across SETU attended the sessions to gain insights into current and upcoming calls, understand how their research aligns with European priorities, and ask programme-specific questions. Dedicated one-to-one meetings with the NCPs also took place, offering tailored advice on proposal development, partnership building and engagement with Horizon Europe.
These discussions also highlighted how Horizon Europe can support industry-academic partnerships that drive innovation, sustainability and regional impact.

By hosting the National Contact Points on campus, SETU continues to support its research community and regional enterprise partners, connecting expertise in the South East with European funding opportunities and strengthening pathways to impactful collaboration.
