SETU hosted the annual Architectural Technology Exhibition at its campus in Carlow on 2 May.
The exhibition, marking the end of the academic year, recognises the talent, hard work, and dedication of students on the Bachelor of Science (Honours) Architectural Technology and the Bachelor of Science Architectural Technology courses. The event displayed the students studio work, which included hand drawn elements, scale models, virtual reality, and Revit drawings.

Margaret Doyle Hughes, Lecturer and Programme Director, stated, “Our annual Architectural Technology Exhibition allows us to display the hard work of all our students from year one to four. SETU’s architectural technology courses provide learners with the opportunity to create inventive solutions to a range of architectural buildings, and to explore new ideas and advanced technical solutions while implementing the key principles of sustainable building design. The exhibition also demonstrates the high calibre of our students’ work and gives a taste of the undoubted success of their future careers in industry.”

Councillor Fergal Browne, Cathaoirleach of Carlow County Council, extended a warm welcome to attendees and officially opened the exhibition. Mark Kennedy presented two student awards sponsored by K Design Studio, an architectural firm in Kilkenny. Chloe Deacon received the award for ‘Student of the Year’.

Sorcha Gartland received a ‘Highly Commended’ award. Representatives from industry and Carlow County Council attended the event, speaking to students and learning more about their projects and career goals.

The exhibition remains on display in the Central Services Building of SETU’s Kilkenny Road campus.
