SETU’s 15th annual Computing Projects Showcase took place at the University’s Kilkenny Road campus in Carlow.
The event brought together students, industry professionals, and members of the wider community to highlight emerging talent across a range of computing disciplines. Supported by longstanding sponsor Netwatch, the showcase continues to be a major event in SETU’s academic calendar.

Final-year students showcased an impressive portfolio of work across a diverse range of disciplines, including Cybercrime and IT Security, Games Development, Software Engineering, IT Management, Interactive Digital Art and Design, and Data Science and Applied AI. Each project demonstrated not only strong technical ability but also creativity and real-world problem-solving skills.

Attendees had the opportunity to explore these projects through interactive demonstrations, offering valuable insight into the ideas and technologies behind each solution. From immersive digital experiences to complex technical systems, the showcase provided a glimpse into current trends and the evolving future of the technology sector.

A standout aspect of the event was the opportunity for students to connect directly with industry professionals and potential employers. As many prepare to take the next step in their careers, the showcase created space for conversations around employment, collaboration, and evolving industry needs.

Faculty members from SETU’s Department of Computing expressed great pride in the calibre of work presented, noting the strong emphasis on practical application and innovation. The showcase once again reinforced the university’s ability to prepare graduates to meet the challenges of a dynamic and ever-changing tech sector.
“As we celebrate the 15th year of this showcase, I am immensely proud of the ingenuity and technical excellence displayed by our students. This event is more than an exhibition; it is a vital bridge between the classroom and the global tech industry. By tackling complex challenges in fields like AI, Cybersecurity, and Software Engineering, our graduates have proven their readiness for the workforce. We are particularly grateful to Netwatch and our industry partners, whose continued support ensures that SETU remains at the forefront of technological education and innovation in the region.”
