SETU was proud to participate in the Irish Blue Cross 80th anniversary celebration, held at the historic Mansion House in Dublin.
SETU is proud to collaborate with the Irish Blue Cross as clinical partners in its veterinary medicine programme. This partnership will offer students hands-on experience and a deeper understanding of the values that underpin animal care in communities across Ireland.
Dr Mary-Kate Burke
Service to animal health
The event honoured eight decades of continued service to animal health and welfare across Ireland, paying tribute to the dedicated volunteers and professionals who have played a vital role in the charity’s enduring impact.
Representing SETU was Dr Mary-Kate Burke, Veterinary Medicine Programme Development Lead, who joined key figures in veterinary care, including Irish Blue Cross CEO Chris Connelly, Head of Veterinary Services Sophie Olah, and Veterinary Surgeon Ciara Sweeney from the Inchicore clinic.
Clinical partners
Reflecting on the event Dr Burke commented, “SETU is proud to collaborate with the Irish Blue Cross as clinical partners in its veterinary medicine programme. This partnership will offer students hands-on experience and a deeper understanding of the values that underpin animal care in communities across Ireland.
She added, “Both SETU and the Irish Blue Cross are enthusiastic about the future of this growing relationship and look forward to exploring new opportunities for collaboration in the years ahead.”
The Irish Blue Cross
Care is at the heart Irish Blue Cross’ work and every year, thousands of dogs, cats and small animals attend the charity’s Inchicore clinic and mobile clinics for treatment. Along with its small animal work, the Irish Blue Cross operates a horse ambulance service that attends all Irish racecourses and main events, working closely with veterinary surgeons to assist injured horses.
