South East Technological University (SETU) has announced that its participation in the EU-CONEXUS European University Alliance has secured almost €1 million in additional funding during a meeting of the Alliance's partner institutions hosted by the University.
The partners of EU-CONEXUS gathered at SETU’s Cork Road Campus and West Campus from 6-9 July for a series of strategic meetings on the progress to date and future planning for Alliance activities.
Professor Veronica Campbell, President of SETU, welcomed members of the Governing Board, External Advisory Council, Student Board, and Management Board to SETU, including representatives from La Rochelle University, Catholic University of Valencia, University of Rostock, Klaipeda University, Technical University of Engineering Bucharest, Frederick University, and the University of Zadar.
These meetings come at a critical time for the European Universities Initiative as they prepare for future phase of funding from the ERASMUS+ European Universities Initiative, and the start of Ireland’s Presidency of the European Union.
The meetings concluded with the announcement that EU-CONEXUS was approved for a further two years under the initiative, giving an opportunity for the Rectors and External Advisors to engage in an open strategic reflection on the Alliance’s progress to date and long-term positioning aligned with the Alliance’s strategic plan.
EU-CONEXUS has been an outstanding success for both our staff and students, providing valuable opportunities to teach, learn and collaborate across our partner universities.
