The aim of this NFQ Level 7 micro-credential award is to produce individuals, distinct in their abilities, understanding, skills and knowledge associated with managing projects utilising project management software in their individual work / learning settings.

The target learners are individuals who aspire to have an understanding of programming, scheduling and management within their own settings and utilise project management software to manage and control projects.

Learning Outcomes

  1. Define and develop project schedules
  2. Appreciate techniques required for planning and controlling projects
  3. Exploit project management scheduling software features to manage and monitor project delivery

The learning process will involve:

  1. Lecture
  2. Tutorials in computer laboratory
  3. Projects linked to individual situation / circumstances
  4. Guided Online Learning via Moodle and Web Conferencing Platform

It is anticipated that participants will engage in 75 hours of directed and independent learning in completing this micro credential.

 

Delivery

4 x 2 hour online evening sessions on Tuesday evenings 6-8 plus 2 Friday afternoon sessions on-ste in SETU Waterford for intensive software labs.

Assessments

Assessment mapped against each of number learning outcomes 1 to 3 as following:

  1. Develop work breakdown structure for a work-based projects
  2. Written report on approaches to planning and controlling project schedules
  3. Project schedule developed in scheduling software package linked to an agreed work situation
