This certificate will introduce you to the landscape design process working from analysis, concept, through to solution. Students can attend the course in  The National  Botanic Gardens.  The  course runs from September - December each year, however is subject to reaching minimum  class size.

Assessment 

Assessment is by Exams and Continuous assessment

  • Surveying: linear surveying, level surveying, transferring information to sketch form.
  • Drawing: use of drawing equipment and drawing standards, draft site survey and site   analysis drawings, draft masterplan drawings .including section/elevation drawings, draft planting plans, draft axonometric drawing, draft construction details.
  • Design approaches: principles of design and elements of design, history of designed  landscapes.
  • Costings: prepare design plants and specifications for given situations, costing proposed  new designed landscapes.

Please note -  entry to this L7 Cert requires applicants to have at least a full L6 Award in Horticulture. 

This Certificate in Landscape Design offers structured continuous professional development opportunities to those already working in the horticulture industry. This level 7 certificate will   allow quicker progression to supervisory or managerial roles and will also allow candidates to diversify and update their horticulture knowledge.
