The Sustainable Agricultural and Food Research Group works with an aim to enhance sustainability and biosafety in agricultural systems collaborating with Teagasc, educational institutions in Ireland and abroad, and with industry.
Food Security and Sustainability projects such as CITIES 2030 work to future proof city food systems and ZeroW which provides credible solutions for significantly reducing food loss & waste.
A network of four Rural Innovation Hubs are being developed across the South East of Ireland by SETU in association with local authorities to support small businesses and start-ups. The Exit4 Rural Innovation Hub was recently opened in Urlingford, Co Kilkenny in partnership with Urlingford Town Team, Kilkenny County Council and Kilkenny Local Enterprise Office.
- Nine Culinary Arts students from SETU travelled to Croatia to explore sustainable food systems through the lens of culinary heritage and cultural landscapes, as part of an EU-CONEXUS Student Research Hub (SRH).
