This course is primarily aimed at graduates of the L7 BSc in Good Manufacturing Practice who are in employment in a biopharmachem / sector. It incorporates the learner’s work experience with module delivery in a concise manner to facilitate completion of a full level 8 Degree qualification – aiding progression in the workplace to supervisory management roles.

The mix of academic content, peer networking and industrial experience is a key feature of the programme. The one-year programme is delivered in an evening blended mode via online and on-campus to facilitate participant access to module material. Practical laboratory sessions in relevant modules via physical experiments/demonstrations will be carried out in the Department of Science suite of undergraduate and postgraduate laboratories.

Assessments are scheduled over the duration of the module to span the start, middle and end of the semester. 

Fees: 4,500 euro

Schedule: 2 evenings per week Tuesday and Thursday 16:15-19:15. Online lectures with lab sessions on-campus at SETU

Delivery

The degree programme delivery will follow a blended learning approach. The presentation of the theory and principles surrounding indicative content in the different modules will be via online lectures. These are designed to be interactive and inclusive in nature. Where appropriate and relevant to thematic areas being discussed, guest presenter as industry practitioners will also provide briefings to the adult learners.

The minimum entry requirements are a level 7 BSc in Science (GMP & Technology) or equivalent subject to interview. The Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) form for Admissions will be considered for an application to the programme.

Candidates must be in employment in a biopharma/medtech company. An on-site orientation session will be organised in South East Technological University at the beginning of each academic year.

Students who successfully complete this course will have been conferred with an Honours Degree - the recognised Major Award at level 8 - and will therefore be in line for frontline management promotion opportunities in many companies.

Students will also be eligible to progress on to level 9 postgraduate studies if they wish.
