Students from SETU’s Certificate in Event Controlling course visited Croke Park recently as part of their studies where they gained firsthand experience of event control practices from the expert team at Ireland’s national stadium.
The group visited the iconic venue to learn about how events are managed and to enjoy a tour of the historic location. The experience offered students valuable insights into what it takes to run large-scale events at one of the busiest sport and concert venues in Ireland.
As part of the Certificate in Event Controlling course, students learn about the role and responsibilities of an Event Controller. This includes learning to develop the skills needed to manage public events with a strong emphasis on safety and operational efficiency. The course prepares students to safeguard all stakeholders, from spectators, players, and officials, to media personnel, and residents.
Visiting Croke Park and having access to the professional knowledge and experience of the staff there was an opportunity to witness up close how safety, logistics, and coordination come together in successful event operations.
