SETU’s Executive Master of Business Administration is a newly integrated cross-campus programme designed to accelerate graduates’ careers within the world of business.
A reimagined programme
Currently open for applications, the Executive MBA is delivered on SETU’s campuses in Carlow and Waterford. This newly re-designed programme aims to improve and create a more effective student learning experience through its cross-campus delivery.
The programme provides students with the necessary insights into building stronger skills, improved leadership in the challenging corporate environment, and expanding horizons within the working world of business.

SETU collaborates with industry, international partner universities and national stakeholders to deliver a globally acknowledged programme with a strong focus on practical experience and an innovative approach to learning.
With companies such as State Street, Zurich, BNY Mellon, and Sun Life Financial operating in the southeast, the executive MBA enables employees in the region to upskill and further develop their business skills.
After seeking insights from work placement companies and SETU alumni, the MBA programme was designed to ensure graduates have the varied skill set necessary for enhancing their careers in complex and fast-paced industry environments.

Alumni from the Executive MBA have progressed into senior roles within leading companies both nationally and internationally. Other alumni have become entrepreneurs leading their own organisations to success.
The programme’s innovative design broadens the pool of MBA talent for employers both nationally and regionally, whilst affording employees a valuable opportunity to upskill and re-orient their career.
The programme offers key career insights in preparation for the demands of the ever-changing business environment, ensuring greater career mobility for graduates, while also helping MBA graduates fulfil a key step in their lifelong learning journey.
Delivery
The programme is delivered through a blend of lectures and independent study. The cross-campus collaboration provides learners with the opportunity to network and hear a diverse range of perspectives and sharing new ideas by sharing practices, ideas and approaches.
The MBA integrates technology to create diverse online learning platforms, collaborative software and connection to the wider SETU community.
The two-year programme is run on a part-time basis with some classes taking place on campus.
