*Please note the link to Needs Assessment form will be available after registration in September.

To access these supports, students must provide appropriate documentation of their disability, which must meet specific criteria. This evidence is reviewed by qualified professionals who assess each case individually to determine suitable accommodations, in line with best practices and legal standards.

How to apply for support

New incoming first-year students who have accepted their offer to SETU, and continuing students who have a disability but have not yet registered with the Disability Office, are required to fill out the following online Student Services Needs Assessment form.

For students who have applied through DARE, there is no requirement to upload supporting documentation.

For students who have not applied through DARE and have difficulty uploading documentation to the Needs Assessment Form, please contact the Disability Office at [email protected].

Once submitted, you will be contacted by the Disability Office usually within the week, inviting you to make an appointment in the Student Services Office in the Barrow Centre with the Assessors, to complete your Needs Assessment and register with the Disability Office. Alternatively, you will receive a request to submit further documentation. The above applies to DARE applicants also.

Each year, a large volume of students register with the Disability Office; therefore, it is very important that you contact the Disability Office and arrange a needs assessment appointment as soon as possible in order to have your supports in place for academic learning, classroom participation and examination support.

Evidence of Disability

When uploading your evidence of disability documentation, please make sure that it has been completed by the appropriate professional for your disability. A list of the appropriate professionals for each disability type is provided in the link below.
