Our SETU Access Office team in Waterford engage with schools, local/regional partnerships and community development projects to support and encourage third level access for members of the Traveller and Roma communities. This funding which has been secured through the Programme for Access to Higher Education (PATH) Strand 5. The key objective of this funding stream is to increase the participation and progression of Traveller and Roma students in Higher Education and, to support the achievement of NAP (2022-2028) targets in this regard. 

SETU in Waterford are part of the SOAR project, which is an inter-institutional collaboration on access. It brings together the south cluster – Munster Technological University, University College Cork and South East Technological University together with community partners to collaborate on devising and delivering strategies to increase access to higher education for under-represented groups.

Financial Bursary for Traveller community and Roma community students is now open for applications. 

If you are a member of the Traveller or Roma community and are a full-time or part-time student registered at SETU, please contact the relevant Access office for information on how to apply.
