The SETU Reach Programme is SETU's local access entry scheme for students applying for a course in SETU.

All eligible applicants to the Reach Programme can gain places to the Waterford-based SETU full-time courses on reduced points and the students selected on the Reach Programme receive a range of additional supports throughout their studies here in SETU.

The purpose of the Reach Programme is to increase participation at third level education by students experiencing a negative long-term impact on their education from ongoing life challenges, who have the ability to succeed academically, but lack the necessary socio-economic and cultural supports and encouragement to apply for and successfully participate in third level education. SETU will make 25 places available for Reach Programme applicants in September 2026 and successful applicants will receive support in the form of an induction course, additional tutorials, mentoring and educational guidance. Financial assistance may be given towards books, travel, childcare and other expenses.

The Reach Programme only applies to SETU in Waterford courses.

The online application process will open for current Leaving Cert students on Tuesday the 3rd of February 2026 and will close at 5pm on the 27th of March 2026
