SafeTALK is an internationally recognised training programme that prepares participants to recognise and engage with people who may be having thoughts of suicide and to connect them to suicide first aid resources.
This programme is designed for women in senior academic and professional services roles. It’s suitable for those who are not yet at the executive level but may aspire to be executive team members, as well as those already working closely with their senior executive team. It is also suitable for those who are working at a senior level and want to expand their leadership horizontally, for example through influencing a wider arena of work. The overall aim of the session is to inform and engage staff working within SETU to work towards the creation of a safe, respectful, positive, supportive, culture on campus which:
- Takes a zero-tolerance approach to sexual harassment, violence and bullying
- Promotes a positive culture of respect on campus
- Provide feedback to the EDI office so we can make further training as relevant as possible
