South East Technological University - Faculty of Business has achieved validation from the Business Graduates Association demonstrating its positive impact on students and society, against independent international quality standards.
Launched in January 2019, BGA, which is the sister organisation of the Association of MBAs (AMBA), is the only business school quality assurance organisation to offer candidate schools a middle ground between membership and full accreditation.
BGA validation serves as an excellent continuous improvement mechanism for business schools. It aims to ensure that the business school can demonstrate to external parties that it is reputable against independent, international quality standards.
All undergraduates and alumni from any of the business school’s programmes are now invited to join BGA’s individual membership network. Students and graduates can strengthen a community that acts as a force for good in management thought and practice, through exclusive events and business content.
Commitment
South East Technological University (SETU) is a multi-campus university with campuses across the south east in Waterford, Carlow, Wexford and Wicklow. Throughout the validation process the panel was impressed by the school’s commitment to graduate employability and employer relations. In fact, the school scored higher than average for the amount of students in employment after graduation.
Dr Thomas O'Toole, Head (Waterford) Faculty of Business, remarked: “The Faculty is delighted to be awarded Silver Validation by the BGA after reviewing our submission. This award underlines our commitment to responsible management education, integrity and continuous improvement. We know that our leaners will significantly benefit from this validation and opportunities provided to them by being part of the BGA.”
Andrew Main Wilson, Chief Executive of AMBA & BGA, added: 'I am delighted to announce that South East Technological University - Faculty of Business has achieved BGA validation. It is great to see the impact it is no doubt having on its students’ lives via its commitment to employability. Overall this school has shown excellent commitment to the core pillars of BGA and we look forward to working with the institution going forward.”
