The Certificate in Practical Pedagogy aims to provide students with opportunities to acquire the knowledge and competences that will enable them to develop as effective, reflective and student-centred facilitators of learning.
Upon successful completion of this module, a student will be able to:
• Critique, synthesise and assess the literature in relation to pedagogical principles and practices.
• Design, compose and apply advanced teaching approaches in order to respond to a wide and often unpredictable range of pedagogical situations.
• Evaluate a range of pedagogical situations and environment in order to create student centred learning opportunities for the advancement of individuals and groups.
• Critically reflect on their learning and practice, using a spectrum of theoretical models and effectively articulate these reflections in an integrative and scholarly manner.
• Critically self-evaluate in relation to practice, and create plans as well as respond effectively to emerging ideas and experiences for their continuing academic and professional development.

Applicants are required to have an Honours Degree (Level 8) or equivalent and be working within an educational setting.
