- Bring a reusable water bottle in to campus and refill it at one of our 28 water refill stations.
- Walk or cycle to campus or, if you must drive, park at the South Sports campus in Carlow or the RSC in Waterford and walk from there!
- Donate what you don’t use – clothes, books, toiletries or unwanted gifts can be brought to charity shops like Oxfam stores in Wexford and Kilkenny or VDeP stores in Carlow, Waterford and Portlaoise.
- Call out gender bias and inequality.
- Donate food to St Clare’s hospitality kitchen in Carlow or Food Banks in Waterford and Wexford.
- Reduce food waste – only buy, prepare or order what you need.
- Try the vegetarian option available at one of our canteens or restaurants.
- Familiarise yourself with our healthy campus charter.
- Join a club or society on campus.
(Re)connect to nature – look up a local forest walk or other green walking route and visit this weekend.

Attend or help to organise repair cafés, clothing swaps, or other circular-economy initiatives on campus. Find your nearest repair shop – go to repairmystuff.ie.

- Avoid single-use items and plastics.
- Participate in river or coastal clean-ups - take part in the NBDC 'Explore your shore' or Big River Watch initiatives.
- Create a wildlife-friendly space with a bird feeder, pollinator-friendly plant or wildlife water station in your garden, balcony or external windowsill.
- Support ‘no-mow May’ in your garden or local area.
- Respect green spaces and biodiversity on campus.
- Support pollinator-friendly planting, biodiversity surveys, or link with local environmental groups.
- Visit the National biodiversity data centre web site and get involved with Citizen science projects.
- Get involved with the SETUSU or the SETUdents for Sustainability society.
- Get involved with SETU, local authorities, industry, and community groups around sustainability challenges.
- Inform yourself – Attend SDG-related talks, seminars, or cross-faculty events and visit the UNSDG website.
