2030 SDGs Game

The 2030 SDGs Game is a multiplayer, in-person, card-based game that simulates taking the “real world” into the year 2030.
The game highlights the importance of balancing the three pillars of People, Planet and Prosperity, and invites participants to explore the mindset and actions that are required to advance sustainability.
Developed in 2016 by Japanese organisation Imacocollabo, the 2030 SDGs Game has now been played by over 400,000 people worldwide.
Using simulation and experiential learning approach, participants will explore how actions connected to one sustainability challenge can influence others, highlighting the complexity, trade-offs and interdependencies that shape many contemporary global challenges.
The workshop also encourages reflection on the role of higher education, disciplines and professional practice in responding to sustainability challenges.

- Understand sustainability and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
- Explore how global sustainability challenges are connected.
- Explore collaboration and shared responsibility in addressing sustainability challenges.
- Reflect on how universities and professions can help create a sustainable future.
Who is this training for?
Everyone, whether you have no prior knowledge of the SDGs or you are an SDG expert, you can play this game. This training is available to all members of staff and students. The more diverse the game participants are, the more representative of society it is.
