Rachael O’Brien is the Data Steward and Digital Innovation Officer at South East Technological University (SETU), based within the Research, Innovation and Impact Office. In this role, she supports the university’s research community in strengthening open research practices, enhancing data quality, and embedding best practice in research data management.
Rachael’s work focuses on developing resources, guidance, and training that promote transparency, accessibility, and innovation in research. She plays an active role in initiatives such as the rollout of the university’s Current Research Information System (Pure) and the development of training materials on Open Access, research data management, and digital scholarship.
Rachael holds a Master of Business in Equality, Diversity and Inclusion from IADT and is committed to fostering inclusive and equitable approaches to digital innovation and research culture within higher education.
