Biography

Dr. M. Sarfraz is a Technical Officer in the Department of Pharmacy at South East Technological University (SETU), Ireland. He holds a B.Pharm (2004, Pakistan) and a PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences (2017) from Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST), China, and completed postdoctoral training in cancer cell biology at Henan College of Medicine, China (2018-20).

Prior to joining SETU in 2022, he served as a faculty member in a School of Pharmacy of home country (2009–2022), contributing to teaching, research, and academic development. At SETU, he leads laboratory management and provides technical support across pharmacy practice and pharmaceutical sciences, supporting the delivery of the MPharm programme.

His research focuses on drug delivery and pharmaceutical product development, particularly in vitro, ex vivo, and in vivo characterisation. He works on applied, industry-relevant solutions to address poor solubility and bioavailability of drug/products. His current interests include the development of non-animal models for predicting drug efficacy. He has supervised Master’s and PhD students and continues to support research capacity building in pharmaceutical sciences.
