South East Technological University (SETU) is now inviting expressions of interest from outstanding researchers based outside of Ireland for the Global Talent Ireland 2025 initiative, funded by Research Ireland.
This national programme offers the Rising Star award (5–15 years post-PhD) — designed to attract world-class talent to Ireland and support the development of ambitious, independent research careers.

SETU is seeking exceptional candidates with a strong track record, international ambition, and a research vision aligned with the university’s research themes:
- Information and communication technologies,
- Environment, bioeconomy and sustainability,
- Pharmaceutical, chemical and biological sciences,
- Engineering and advanced manufacturing,
- Health, well-being, sport and physical activity,
- Business, finance, entrepreneurship and management practice,
- Creativity, culture and society.
Successful applicants will receive significant funding and institutional support to establish or relocate their research programmes to SETU — Ireland’s newest technological university, driving innovation, collaboration, and impact across the South East region and beyond.
