The Ocular Therapeutics Research Group at South East Technological University (SETU) has launched its new INNOVISION website, creating a dedicated hub for vision science, collaboration, and innovation.
The launch coincides with the INNOVISION recruitment call, launching on 1 October, 2025 - inviting talented postdoctoral researchers to join SETU, Experimentica, and University of Iceland’s growing community tackling global challenges in eye health.
Advancing vision science
INNOVISION (Innovative Ocular Therapeutics through Engagement and Interdisciplinary Vision Research) is an ambitious programme based at SETU with partners around the globe, focused on addressing the rising burden of vision impairment and eye disease worldwide. The new website provides information on the group’s research, partners, training opportunities, and how to collaborate.
By combining expertise in nanomedicine, artificial intelligence, pharmacology, and public health, INNOVISION aims to accelerate the development of new therapies and technologies that improve outcomes for people living with ocular conditions.
Why it matters / the vision
- Vision impairment and ocular disease are rising global challenges; interdisciplinary, translational research is needed to deliver new therapies, diagnostics, and preventative strategies.
- By combining academic research, clinical insight, industry partnerships, and community engagement, INNOVISION aims to accelerate innovation from bench to bedside.

Postdoctoral opportunities launched on 1 October, 2025.
To coincide with the website launch, INNOVISION are currently accepting applications for fully funded postdoctoral fellowships in ocular therapeutics and related fields. Successful candidates will:
- join a vibrant interdisciplinary research team at SETU, Experimentica, or University of Iceland,
- benefit from structured training and supervision,
- engage in collaboration with academic, clinical, and industry partners,
- develop skills for careers in science, innovation, and healthcare.
