A proactive approach and a passion for sport have helped SETU graduate Lina Sadiki Llodra secure an internship with Spanish football club Villarreal CF.
For Lina Sadiki Llodra, studying Master of Business in Finance and Business Analytics at SETU has become a stepping stone to an exciting international opportunity with Villarreal CF. Having previously graduated from SETU with a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in International Management, Lina chose to continue her academic journey at the university to further develop her skills in finance, analytics and strategic thinking.

At SETU, Lina valued the collaborative and inclusive learning environment, where students from diverse backgrounds worked together while developing practical skills in modern analytical tools and software. Sport, initiative, and securing an international opportunity
Alongside her studies, Lina actively participated in sports such as volleyball and boxing, which contributed to a well-rounded student experience. Her passion for sport, particularly football and camogie, played a key role in shaping her interest in working with Villarreal CF.
Taking a proactive approach, she directly contacted the club, submitted her CV, and successfully secured the internship after Villarreal CF expressed interest in her profile.
Looking ahead to a global career
Lina aims to build an international career in finance and business analytics, combining her analytical skills with her interest in global collaboration and cross-cultural experience.
“I would like to work in environments where I can use my language skills and gain experience across different countries and cultures. Although I am moving to Spain to complete my internship with Villarreal CF, Ireland will always feel like a second home, and I hope to return in the future to continue my professional journey.”
