SETU graduate Abdullah Khalid is developing advanced skills in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data analysis through the MSc in Applied Artificial Intelligence.

With a bachelor's degree in Information Technology and experience as a Full Stack Web Developer with Craft Concept, Abdullah has developed applications using React and Laravel. His professional experience also includes software projects involving machine learning and AI-based technologies.
Now pursuing the Master of Science in Applied Artificial Intelligence at SETU, Abdullah chose the programme to build on his technical background and further develop his expertise in artificial intelligence and data-driven technologies.
Learning AI Through Real-World Projects
Abdullah says the Masters of science in Applied Artificial Intelligence places a strong emphasis on applied learning through projects involving machine learning models, data analysis, and real-world problem solving.

Turning Research into Impact
A key highlight of Abdullah's studies is his dissertation, which focuses on a smartphone-based fall detection system using machine learning. Designed for real-time detection without the need for wearable devices, the project has potential applications in healthcare and safety monitoring.
Alongside this, Abdullah has developed web-based applications, including a Shopify app, further strengthening his technical and problem-solving skills.
Looking ahead in artificial intelligence
Abdullah is considering a research pathway in artificial intelligence and data science, with a particular interest in machine learning, intelligent systems, and automation. He hopes to deepen his expertise through further academic study and research in the field.
His experience at SETU is providing a strong foundation in applied AI, combining academic knowledge with hands-on development and real-world problem solving.
