The Department of Computing and Maths at South East Technological University (SETU) are running CodeGirl, a Computing Summer Camp designed to encourage female secondary school students to explore careers in Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
Due to take place at SETU's Cork Road Campus in Waterford on Monday, 15 June 2026, CodeGirl Computing Camp will introduce participants to a range of computing areas in a fun, interactive way.
Explore key skills
Students will gain hands‑on experience in practical Python coding and web development, explore career paths in tech, and take part in industry visits to see the real world of technology up close.
Attendees will have the chance to write real code and develop their core programming skills, while learning how to develop websites from scratch and exploring how creativity and tech are intertwined.

Free to attend
The camp is free to attend, giving secondary school students insight into the exciting opportunities they could avail of with a career in tech.
CodeGirl forms part of SETU's ongoing commitment to closing the gender gap in ICT and building a more inclusive and diverse technology sector. The camp reflects SETU's tradition of outreach in computing education, building on years of successful programmes aimed at secondary school students across the south east region.

Female secondary school students interested in attending CodeGirl should register by filling in the form at setu.ie/CodeGirl. This event is free to attend but places are limited so booking is required.
