Try Social Science is an opportunity to sample the learning experience at Social Science in SETU. Social Science is an exciting, dynamic discipline that seeks to explain our social world and circumstances and policies that make and shape that world. We examine all the key social issues that affect our contemporary society.

Crime, Housing, Health, Education, Disability, New Technology and Media, Inequality, the Climate Crisis are all examined and analysed. These issues are contextualised through Sociology, Psychology, Economics, History, Politics and Philosophy as well as an in-depth examination of social policy and how it is made in Ireland and around the world.

The event is aimed at transition year, fifth and sixth year, further education and mature students with participants meeting with lecturers and current undergraduate students to discuss all aspects of the course and college life.

Information will also be presented about the career and postgraduate opportunities that exist for social science graduates.

This event begins at 9.30am. There will be a short break and we will conclude at 1.30pm.

Lunch vouchers will be provided for enrolled participants. Booking required to attend.
