Exciting and innovative course

The postgraduate course is developed by SETU and Nemeton TV in partnership with Udarás na Gaeltachta and has been successfully preparing new media talent since 2006. Click here to watch our course video.

We offer an exciting and innovative blend of practical workshops delivered through a three-day block release, complemented with online tutorials. This flexibility allows the eight-month course to be uniquely tailored to the needs of those wishing to upskill or retrain while working. It also allows students living further afield to avail of the course.

Scholarships

Nemeton TV and SETU are delighted to offer scholarships for the Higher Diploma in Television and Media Production. In this valuable development for the acclaimed postgraduate course, eligible students are provided with €3,000 to cover course fees. If you are a freelancer or temporarily out of work, you may be eligible.

Our core belief is that our third level course needs to remain relevant and dynamic, and it must prepare students for work in the contemporary media industries in Ireland and further afield.

Make a unique short drama or documentary

Students have the opportunity to explore writing, producing directing, editing and camera. Their films are broadcast on TG4 and are nominated every year at the National Student Media Awards, where they have been winning in multiple categories for over a decade. The Imaginative documentaries and dramas are selected for top festivals such as the Galway Film Fleadh, the Chicago Film Festival and Dublin International Film Festival’s First Frame. They also win prestigious awards at festivals such as Fastnet and Cinemagic On the Pulse.

Digital marketing module

Students undertake a Marketing for Television and Digital Content module where they learn how to develop and budget their idea and pitch it to a national broadcaster, production company or producer. As part of this module, we are delighted to continue the new series of workshops – Creating Content for Digital Marketing with an elective focus on Sport. Students receive expert tuition from practitioners in the industry to help them develop a strategy for marketing their short films. In the ever-evolving contemporary digital climate, this will significantly add to the comprehensive toolkit that they enter a competitive industry with.
