You will examine the purpose and development of criminal law and develop an understanding of the elements required to establish criminal liability, including actus reus and mens rea. The programme considers how criminal responsibility is determined and how criminal offences are categorised within the Irish legal system.
Learners will explore offences against the person, including murder, manslaughter and assault, while examining the legal principles and case law that govern these offences.
