This module is targeted primarily at those already qualified in an engineering/science discipline and who wish to develop a basic understanding of Industrial Process Measurements used in Instrumentation.
Focusing on practical industrial applications, learners will gain an understanding of process measuring systems, such as Temperature Measurement, Pressure Measurement, Level Measurement and Flow Measurement using discrete (on-off) and variable (analog) measurement methods.
Unique Features
- Delivered by lecturing team on the Instrumentation apprenticeship programs.
- The module will be delivered through a mix of theory and practical in our designated process Instrumentation laboratory.
- Practical 4-20mA measurement loops set up based on those used in industrial processes.
- Calibration of Instruments using: HART communication and manual calibration.
- Simulation of process variables using field calibrators.
Delivery
The course consists of an 11-week on-campus program at the SETU Kilkenny road Campus in Carlow, with sessions typically held once a week for 4 hours.
This programme is targeted primarily at those already qualified in an engineering/science discipline or those who hold a national craft certificate who wish to develop a basic understanding of Industrial Process Measurements used in Instrumentation.
