Staff/Students are not required to register for on Campus Parking.

Clamping will be in operation for all illegally parked cars or Pay & Display without a valid ticket.

To assist you with choosing a parking space please park within the white lines. Yellow boxes and double yellow lines have been placed on the roads and within car parks.

Please be mindful of bicycle users and pedestrians when using the car parks.

A 10km/h speed limit applies to all University car parks.

We would respectfully request that you do not park in residential areas surrounding the Institute.

Disabled spaces are available to drivers holding a valid disabled parking permit.

Please respect these spaces, which are clearly marked for drivers holding a valid disabled parking permit. Cars using these spaces will be regularly monitored and anyone using these disabled parking bays without a valid disabled parking permit will be clamped.

Parking

On the Cork Road Campus, there are numerous areas where bicycles can be parked

  • At the side of the Tourism and Leisure building
  • Between the Administration building and the Engineering corridor (opposite the Security Office)
  • Outside the Gallery Restaurant directly opposite the Walton IT building
  • Bicycle Shelter (between Gallery Restaurant and Walton IT Building)
  • The left-hand side of the Library entrance
  • Outside the Transport Office (Beside Clubs and Socs)
  • The exit to the back car park

Bicycle parking is available to the front and rear of the College Street Campus.

Bicycle parking is available to the front of the SETU Arena, the ARCLabs and TSSG building

The Waterford Greenway is a spectacular 46km off-road cycling and walking trail along an old railway line between Waterford and Dungarvan.

With the Greenway now in full operation, it can be accessed through the free front carpark (Zone 2) of the SETU Arena.

TFI Bike Stations

TFI Bikes is a self-service bike rental service, with stations conveniently located throughout Waterford City, making it easy to get around, whether it’s for commuting to work, meeting friends, or doing some sight-seeing.

There are 14 Bike stations and 220 bikes located in key areas around the city, including at SETU, University Hospital Waterford, Bank Lane, Kilcohan and Arundel Square.  These bikes will allow commuters to switch to more active ways to get to and around the City Centre.

With docking stations at several SETU Campus locations, students will have plenty of opportunities to use them to travel to and from the city centre.

Bike Shelter

In order to get your card programmed to access the bicycle shelter (located between the Gallery Restaurant and Walton IT building) you must complete the form below (either print the form or pick one up in the Estates Office) and return it to the Estates Office on the Cork Road Campus.

  • Access will only be granted to current students and staff (proof of ID may be required)
  • Students will only be granted access for the current academic year
  • Bicycles must be secured in the Bicycle shelter using a D lock
  • Bicycles should not be left in the shelter overnight
  • Please ensure to close the door behind you, any issues can be reported to Security on 0879400888 or to [email protected]
  • SETU cannot accept any responsibility for bicycles damaged or stolen whilst using the bicycle shelter

  • Dublin Airport is Ireland's biggest international airport located 10km north of Dublin in Collinstown.

    Getting From Dublin Airport -
    By Bus - Dublin Airport is accessible by over 1,000 buses and coaches daily, reaching many areas in and around Dublin and towns and cities across Ireland, available outside both terminals.
    By Taxi - Taxis are available from the forecourts directly outside Terminal 1 & Terminal 2.
    Car Rental - Car rental services are available within both terminals
    Car Parking - Parking is available at Dublin airport who provide both long term and short terms options.

  • Cork Airport is one of Ireland's international airports located 6.5 km south of Cork city.

    Getting From Cork Airport -
    By Bus - Cork Airport is served by scheduled bus and coach services that link the airport with Cork city – and from there to destinations all over Ireland from the city’s main bus and train stations.
    By Taxi - The taxi rank is located directly outside the terminal building. The cost from Cork Airport to Cork city centre with the main bus and railway stations is around €20.
    Car Rental - You can rent cars at Cork Airport. The rental offices are all located in the Arrivals Hall.
    Car Parking - Parking is available at Cork airport who provide both long term and short terms options.

  • Shannon Airport is located on the west coast of Ireland, 24 kilometres north of Limerick city, 22 kilometres south of Ennis town and 90 kilometres south of Galway.

    Getting from Shannon Airport -
    By Bus - Shannon Airport is served by scheduled bus and coach services that link the airport with Cork city – and from there to destinations all over Ireland from the city’s main bus and train stations.
    By Airport Cab - Shannon Airport Taxi's offer a private airport transfer service to/from Shannon Airport.
    Car Rental - You can rent a car at Cork Airport. The customer services desks are all located in the Arrivals Hall.
    Car Parking - Parking is available at Cork airport who provide both long term and short terms options.

  • Belfast International Airport, located in Northern Ireland, is 21km northwest of Belfast.

    Getting from Belfast Airport -
    By Bus - Regular bus and coach services are available from the front of the terminal building to Belfast, Lisburn and Londonderry. All three bus terminals provide access to the wider Northern Ireland and intercountry public transport networks.
    By Taxi - The International Airport Taxi Company, official taxi operator for the Belfast International Airport, are available for hire 24 hours a day 7 days a week outside the right hand door of the airport Exit lobby. Only taxis approved by Belfast International Airport are permitted to use the taxi rank. A list of sample fares is displayed in the exit hall of the terminal building.
    Car Rental - Six car hire companies have outlets at Belfast International Airport, the majority of which are based in the arrivals hall.
    Car Parking - A number of car parking options, both on and offsite are offered.

Leap Card is a convenient way to pay for public transport services in Dublin, Cork, Galway, Limerick, Waterford and Wexford. It saves you carrying change and Leap Card fares are usually 20% cheaper than cash single tickets!

Students can avail of a Student Leap Card, which is printed on campus at the Students Union.
