Engineering the South East is delighted to launch its new website to support engineering business, education and research across the South East.

Engineering the South East is an industry-led cluster incorporating companies, education providers and government agencies working collectively to promote, support and develop engineering in all its forms for the benefit of the region.

Funded by Enterprise Ireland through South East Technological University (SETU), the cluster has three primary areas of focus: promotion & communication, skills and training, research and innovation. The new website will serve as the cluster's main information sharing point, highlighting not just what the cluster is, but also how it is achieving its core goal of keeping members "more connected, engaged, and innovative."

Stephen Rooney, Engineering the South East cluster Manager, based out of the SETU Carlow campus, commented on how the website will bring more people from the engineering industry together and create awareness around opportunities in the industry: “One of its key goals is to demystify the process of connecting with the region's knowledge providers' services. Companies frequently believe that the main reason to engage is to gain access to educational programmes, but there is so much more available that most people are unaware of. The website will be a helpful resource that, over time, will help connect the dots between all the services available.”

The website will grow and become more interactive with expansion through industry engagement and collaborative projects. It can be used to explore collaborations, build awareness of research & development opportunities, tap into skills development opportunities and post available jobs.

Dr Frances Hardiman, Head of Faculty of Engineering in SETU  Carlow campus and co-founder of the cluster commented: "This is a key tool in showcasing the south east region and the excellent collaboration among industry, educational providers and our many supporting agencies such as Enterprise Ireland, IDA and Ireland South East, that are working together to drive engineering across the region".
