Computing Camp 2024

Date : Thu 09 May - Fri 10 May

Time : 09:30 - 15:30

Waterford

What’s it like to study and have a career in computer science? Why not join us to find out by doing our two day HEA funded computing camp.

The camp will be run over two days (9:30am - 3:30pm) on Thursday 9th May and Friday 10th May. No prior knowledge is required for this course. Lunch is included and will commence at 12:30.

The course is aimed at transition year students and above, but we are happy to facilitate motivated students from earlier years. The students will gain some experience in website design and development, coding in python and creating interactive applications with small handheld devices. The camp also includes a tour of The Walton Institute at SETU data centre and super computer, and a tour of Sun Life’s state of the art offices in Waterford where a large number of computer science graduates are employed. The camp will be under the expert guidance of an experienced team of lecturers

Please Note: Places are provisional. SETU strives to ensure no one group/school dominates the camp. All applications will be confirmed.
