The outstanding work of South East Technological University’ (SETU) computing and software development students was proudly displayed at the university’s annual Showcase 2024. Now in its thirteenth year, the event is proudly sponsored by Netwatch and was held at SETU’s campus in Carlow.
The key to the success of the showcase is the continued support of Netwatch, a world-leader in proactive video monitoring with offices based locally in Carlow. While the company has garnered global success since its Carlow-based beginnings some twenty years ago, it remains a strong supporter of the local area, evidenced in its continued support of SETU graduates.
Showcase 2024 was an opportunity for industry leaders and the wider SETU community to experience the projects of final-year students of cybercrime and IT security, games development, software engineering, IT management, interactive digital art and design, and data science. The projects demonstrate an extensive range of ideas and technologies employed by students in these disciplines.
Industry employers had the chance to meet some of the best IT talent available in the region, and nationally, just as students are about to embark on their professional lives. This was a powerful networking opportunity for employers and students alike, proudly facilitated by SETU’s Department of Computing who believes wholeheartedly in the calibre of its graduates.
Simon Walshe, Software Development Manager at Netwatch Group commented, “This is our fourth year to be involved in the Showcase and it has been as impressive as always. The showcase culminated in a presentation of awards from Netwatch to students whose project presentations excelled in the following categories:
