Our Green Campus Committee is made up of both students and staff, who work voluntarily advocate for sustainable citizenship in all aspects of university life. The Committee actively promotes numerous sustainability initiatives throughout our campuses and works to engage both students and staff. 

The Green Committee also works closely with SETU Students Union to communicate sustainability messages, and to organise and support events.

Over the past four years, the Green Campus Committee has been dedicated to attaining the esteemed An Taisce Green Flag for Litter and Waste. Through the implementation of recycling and composting bins, informative signage, reduced usage of disposables, and impactful recycling campaigns just to name a few, we have see a our recycling rates increase and a reduction in the overall volume of waste. 

This academic year, we will submit a application to An Taisce and we are optimistic that on being granted this prestigious award in the upcoming months.

We encourage all students to engage with SETU’s Green Campus by either joining the committee as a member or volunteering for various campus events, including litter picks, bin angels and other eco-friendly initiatives held throughout the year.
