Office for Equality, Diversity & Inclusion

To support this endeavor, SETU has established the Office for Equality, Diversity & Inclusion, led by the Vice-President for Equality, Diversity & Inclusion, Dr. Allison Kenneally. This office is responsible for leading, devising and implementing EDI policies, strategies and actions in line with national and sectoral imperatives, legislative requirements, and best practice internationally.

Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Committee

South East Technological University Governing Body has established an Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Committee of the Governing Body from which it derives its authority and to which it regularly reports. The purpose of the committee is to assist and advise the Governing Body in the performance of its functions by providing governance and oversight which will achieved by reviewing reports and assurances received from the President and the SETU Executive Management Team. The committee will also provide guidance and direction on policy matters associated the achievement of EDI objectives across the university. The Governing Body has appointed Ms Ruth Beadle to be the Chair of the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Committee.

Ending Sexual Violence, Prevention and Support (ESP) Committee

SETU’s ESP Committee oversees the implementation of the Framework for Consent in HEIs; Safe, Respectful, Supportive and Positive: Ending Sexual Harassment in Irish Higher Education Institutions. Membership comprises of key stakeholders including academics, student support services, EDI, the Student’s Union, HR and external specialist agencies. The vision of the Framework is to ensure an institutional campus culture which is safe, respectful and supportive.
