South East Technological University (SETU) student Daniel Mernin, has become the first recipient of the Schivo Engineering Scholarship.

The scholarship is awarded by Schivo Medical to a student on the BEng (Hons) in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering programme.

Daniel is a second-year student of the programme at SETU’s Waterford campus. He has been awarded the Schivo Engineering Scholarship based on his excellent academic performance in the first year of study and following an interview process.

This award is a Schivo Medical Waterford initiative, which aims to strengthen the company’s relationship with SETU and assist and encourage further potential industrial collaboration.

In addition to the scholarship award, Daniel will benefit from further project opportunities and related industrial experience with Schivo, which is located close to SETU’s Cork Road campus.

The BEng (Hons) in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering programme (SE712) offers a wide range of engineering opportunities including industrial placement in third year and elective streams in fourth year. This initiative with Schivo will further strengthen the industrial links of the programme, which has a large number of graduates working in the region.
