1. Objective and Purpose
SETU Entry Awards serve as a strategic initiative to achieve several key objectives within SETU's community. These include the attraction of academically accomplished international (non-EU) students to SETU to pursue fulltime undergraduate and taught postgraduate programmes on-campus; the enhanced representation of on-campus students from across the world; and the provision of support to fulltime academic programmes.
2. Award Description
For the 2025/2026 international (non-EU) fulltime student intake to SETU, successful applicants will be awarded a partial fee remission/tuition fee discount of between 7% and 30% , depending upon their chosen fulltime programme of study, academic credentials and english language attainment.
3. Eligibility Criteria
These awards are exclusively available to self-funding non-EU students pursuing their studies on a fulltime in-person basis at one of SETU’s campuses. Eligible programmes encompass a wide range of undergraduate and graduate taught programmes provided across SETUs campuses at Carlow, Waterford, or Wexford. Excluded are online, part-time, and off-shore campus programmes, with further exclusions determined from time-to-time by SETU Schools and Faculties.
4. Award Determination
SETU Global determines the eligibility and award amounts for SETU Entry Awards based on the information supplied by applicants and the SETU programme offer. The former focuses on the applicant's academic and english language credentials, as demonstrated through the relevant programme application. Minimum eligibility requirements are established relative to programme entry prerequisites and the applicant's regional matriculation qualifications.
5. Award Terms and Conditions
Upon the issuance of programme offers, eligible candidates will be informed of their status regarding the SETU Entry Awards. It is important to note that the award amounts determined by SETU Global are final. Successful candidates must adhere to the timelines specified by SETU Global for acceptance of awards.
6. Award Recipient Obligations
SETU may provide successful entry award recipients with opportunities to extend their contribution at SETU through the SETU International Ambassador programme. This could entail sharing insights, enthusiasm, and experiences to make a meaningful impact on the lives of international students embarking on their academic journeys away from home. International Ambassadors may be encouraged to participate in various platforms and activities of SETU Global, such as contributing to social media/website content, engaging in discussion groups, panels, surveys, and/or supporting events or activities that promote SETU's mission. Notwithstanding this, SETU recognises that academic study and progression remains the foremost priority of all award recipients and academic commitments will always be given top priority.
7. Retaining and Renewing Awards
To retain the award, continuous full-time enrolment at SETU is essential. Recipients must meet academic progression and credit/module requirements within one academic year or the first attempt of a stage. The renewal of Entry Awards is contingent upon meeting these criteria.
8. Changes and Modifications
SETU reserves the right to make changes, modifications, or discontinuations to the Entry Award scheme. This is intended to ensure that the awards programme remains adaptable and effective in its goals.
9. Misrepresentation and Disqualification
Applicants are reminded that any misrepresentation in their application or supporting materials, whether discovered during verification or later, will lead to immediate disqualification from the awards programme.
10. Communication and Updates
As policy information is subject to change, prospective applicants are encouraged to regularly review the policy to stay informed about procedures, deadlines, and any updates.
11. Award Exclusivity
The entry award cannot be combined with any other tuition scholarship.
