Dr Lisa Moran

I chose the MAME programme as I was interested in going deeper into the concepts of management and leadership. I wanted to hear from other educational professionals about what management and leadership means to them and delve deep into theory. The MAME surpassed my expectations. Each session was expertly facilitated and inspired us to think critically about our practice and crucially, theory to practice interchanges. My educational research project on emotional labour of senior female leaders in HE opened up new avenues for my own research agenda too. I would recommend this programme to other educational professionals.

Mark O'Brien

I am a proud graduate of the MA in Management (MAME) and a GPA Scholarship recipient in 2023/24. The MAME has been transformative for me, equipping me with essential leadership skills and knowledge. The excellent lecturers and diversity of classmates from primary, secondary, Further and Higher Education enriched my learning experience. Also, the flexible, blended learning format was perfect for helping me to balance my career and studies. The skills I have gained are transferable to all aspects of life, not just in school. The MAME has truly transformed me as a teacher and as a person, allowing me to lead with confidence and advance my career in education. I would highly recommend it.

Emily Wales, Primary School Teacher

I began my MAME journey in September 2021. As a result of COVID, the vast majority of the modules were held online which actually was a great benefit – allowing easier attendance and the opportunity to interact with people all over the country and world, albeit virtually. The sense of camaraderie was not lessoned by this, and I found it invaluable in creating my community of practice and broadening my collegial contacts. The knowledge I gained from the programme has developed my leadership skills to the extent of securing my current position as AP1 in my Primary School. Through guided support, the encouragement to research and the push to interact with teachers from such different backgrounds are what makes this experience invaluable to me.
