Overview

This programme will develop a students skills in interpreting and sourcing of relevant financial information for an organisation in the aquabusiness sector. In addition, it builds the ability to assess, evaluate and manage relevant financial information for business decisions. The preparation of a business plan is designed to operate as a capstone to bring together the knowledge from across the programme. The focus is on organisations operating in the aqua sector including fisheries, aquaculture and seafood processing.

On completion of this programme, students should be able to:
- Discuss the role of the finance function and the financial environment affecting an aquabusiness;
- Critically assess the financial position and performance of an organisation;
- Critically assess the role of financial information in short, medium and long term decision making;
- Evaluate the relevant information for planning including sources of finance;
- Design and prepare a relevant business plan for an aquabusiness including financial projections.

Entry Requirements

All applicants will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Lifelong Learning reserves the right to require applicants to attend for an interview to determine their suitability for the programme
